Sacred Heart Care Team

One in eight persons over 65 and nearly half of those over 85 will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Did you know that 80% of Alzheimer’s patients are cared for at home by family? You may know a family doing so. It is both isolating and exhausting and these families need our help.

Belonging to the Care Team at Sacred Heart requires just a few hours of your time, when you can, to give a family respite. (Typically, just 3 to 4 hours per month to help someone in our parish community!)

Sacred Heart’s Volunteer Team was established 15 years ago and has provided non-medical support and friendship to many Care Givers. Team volunteers are offered training and continued support from the staff at the Eddy Alzheimer’s Services. You may contact Sandy Monahan at (518) 238-4167 or Barbara O’Brien, (a Parishioner) at (518)272-3403 for more information. God Bless.
