Reach Out To Someone!

12 Feb 2012 by SHRCChurch, Comments Off on Reach Out To Someone!

Mark’s Gospel tells us that Jesus stretched out his hand and touched the leper.  We have probably forgotten but Jesus touched us as well,  particularly in our baptism where we were cleansed of sin.  Consider how much more powerful sin is than leprosy?  Leprosy painfully and inevitably destroys the body but sin, if left unredeemed, can destroy the soul.  Having been redeemed from sin we are to live as Jesus lived – healing others.

But who are the lepers of today?  They are the poor, the sick, the lonely, the elderly, the marginalized and ostracized in society.  All await only our touch!  Have you reached out and touched anyone lately?
