Quiet Please!

28 Nov 2015 by SHRCChurch, Comments Off on Quiet Please!
Many people arrive early at Mass for one of a couple reasons. Some use this time to chat, to meet and greet or “catch up.” Still others, use the few minutes before the start of Mass to pray and prepare themselves for the celebration of the Liturgy which is so very important as we strive to live out, each week, our Discipleship as followers of Jesus!

Although we wish to fully support and foster the idea of Sacred Heart as a warm, open and welcoming community we should also keep in mind that in order to prepare ourselves properly to celebrate the great Mystery of Christ’s redemptive love, in the Eucharist, we need time to collect ourselves; turning our attention from the busy secular world to the sacred world within the walls of our Church.
To this end please try to meet and greet each other in the Entry Hall at the rear of the church before entering the Sacred Space where we worship. Doing so will help ensure a respectful silence before Mass begins.
