Fresh Air Host Families Needed

Are you looking for a way to turn your faith into action?  Invite a Fresh Air Fund child into your home for one or two weeks this summer.  Fresh Air children are six to twelve years old.  Imagine a summer without swimming, laying in the backyard or gazing at the stars.  You can give these new experiences to a New York City child.  There are no financial requirements for hosting, just a warm heart and home.

If you would like more information about how you can give an awesome new experience to a child, call Cindy Mangione at 785-6176 or visit our website at www.freshair.org

Hospitality Volunteers Wanted

Are you interested in serving on a Sacred Heart Hospitality Committee?  The parish has a few events each year at which we provide simple hospitality (Memorial Mass, Lenten Retreat, Confirmation).  Please call the rectory  or email Suzanne at sturner.shc@gmail.com if you are  interested in becoming more involved in the life of our parish!

Rejoice for He is Risen!

Easter is a day of celebration because it represents the fulfillment of our faith as Christians.  Through his death, Christ saved mankind from bondage to sin, and He destroyed the hold that death has on all of us; but it is His Resurrection that gives us the promise of new life, both in this world and the next.  Rejoice for He is Risen!

“Amen I say to you. one of you will betray me…”

In today’s Gospel we hear Jesus say to his trusted disciples “Amen I say to you, one of you will betray me…”  To which the disciples quickly reply “Surely it is not I Lord?”  From today’s perspective we understand that Jesus’ words were intended for Judas only…or were they?

When we as Christians are unfaithful to the Gospel calling we  too betray Jesus… “Lord is it I”?  With our busy lives and hectic schedules, how long will we even remember today’s Gospel reading and homily?… “Lord is it I’?

What do you do for the least of our brothers and sisters…”Lord is it I”?

God intends that we be active participants in the history of salvation.  All we need do is ask the question… “Lord is it I”?

One thing is for certain…  we will get an answer.
