It’s Up to You!

SHInspirational - 06 (Beach Scene YBM)Perseverance is the way in prayer.  Edward Hays, a noted spiritual writer, in his book “Notes to a Friend” invited his readers to pray with what the Jews called chutzpah, pure brazenness.  “Throw your lukewarm, dishwater tepid prayers down the drain and replace them with furnace feverish petitions.”  Granted, some of our prayers are not answered as we wish but hear what Jesus does promise for us: “…how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”  It is the Spirit that will miraculously strengthen and guide us through these human trials.  But remember the Spirit cannot come into hearts that will not open themselves.  It’s up to you!
