God’s Word!

_DSC7074Today is a good time to reflect on the many “meanings” of the phrase… God’s Word.  First, God speaks to us in the words of His inspired Sacred Scriptures (The Bible). Second, God speaks to us through all of creation and the world we live in. (Recall that God created our world by simply uttering His word! …St. John’s Gospel reminds us of this in its opening verses “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was in God’s presence,…”). God also speaks to us “historically”, through the person and actions of Jesus Christ who once walked the earth in Palestine, and “presently” through the influence of the Holy Spirit.  And finally, God’s Word gloriously incarnate within the Blessed Trinity is relentless, all encompassing and ever-present in our lives!!
