“Follow Me”

14 Apr 2013 by SHRCChurch, No Comments »

In the longer version of today’s gospel we hear Jesus ask Peter if he loves him – and this three times to compensate for the three times Peter denied him in the courtyard.

After Peter’s assurance of his love, Jesus instructed him to  “Feed my lambs,” “Tend my sheep,” and “Feed  my sheep.”  This story focuses on Peter, but it applies equally to all disciples throughout all times.

Like Peter we too have been forgiven our denials of Jesus, but also like Peter we are given a job to do!  That is to “Bring Christ to the World.”  How, you ask… to this Jesus responds, “Follow me!”
