Education Tax Credit Update

15 Jun 2014 by SHRCChurch, No Comments »

The proposed Education Investment Tax Credit, which is backed by the vast majority of our legislators and a broad, ecumenical coalition that goes well beyond partisan and denominational lines needs an expression of grass roots support to break the log-jam of a just a few power-brokers.

Cardinal Dolan has prepared a YouTube video highlighting Governor Cuomo’s key role in enabling this legislation to advance, and he has also followed up with a written statement (see insert in this week’s bulletin) summarizing the importance of this bill and the role we as concerned parishioners and citizens can play right now.

The Cardinal is in ongoing communication with the Governor and we may be at a turning point. The time to turn the corner is now for our children, our teachers, our schools – our future! If everyone of us does something, we WILL make a difference.

God bless you in all that you do – and especially at important moments like this when we must rise to the occasion. You have my admiration and continual support and prayer.

Always in Christ Jesus,

Bishop Ed
