Called By Name

Pete Desmond (Crop)Serving the Kingdom of God!  How fitting that the culmination of our diocesan-wide Called by Name II process falls on this Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. In the Preface of today’s liturgy, we are reminded that the Kingdom of God is “a kingdom of truth and life…of holiness and grace…of justice, love, and peace.”

By our Baptism we are all called to help build this Kingdom of God. Flowing from our baptism, some of us may be called to be servant leaders in this “building project” as deacons, vowed religious, or lay ecclesiastical ministers. Others still may be called to serve as; Lectors of the Word, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Catechists in our Faith Formation program, Respite Volunteers, or in countless other ministries supported by and engaged in by the Sacred Heart Community!

Today you are asked to submit your completed response cards with names and contact information for those who may be called to one of these vocations… Perhaps even, your own name!  Please pray for all those, who through this process, may discern a call to ministry during the coming year.
