Are You a Disciple?

20 May 2012 by SHRCChurch, No Comments »

Today’s reading is part of what is known as   Jesus’ Priestly Prayer and it shows his concern   for those that would continue the ministry that Jesus started while on earth.  An interesting point is that Jesus is not just referring to the Apostles but to the disciples.  Who then, are the disciples?  Simply stated they are “followers of Christ.”  Their duties?  To evangelize – this is the church’s most important task.  “As you sent me into the world,  so I sent them into the world.”  As disciples, our presence and our witness in the world will reveal the possibility of living life in Christ.  Jesus is counting on you!
